About Taylor

When you know who you are, you'll know what to do.

The spinning tires, the wasted capital, the revolving door of consultants — those are symptoms of not knowing who you are. My job is to get you clear, so you don’t need me anymore.

I · In my own words

I'm an operator. I don't give advice from the sidelines — I execute. Twenty-four years, independent, still the one answering the email.

I've spent that time in rooms where the stakes were personal and the timelines were real. Boardrooms. Recording studios. Small-church sanctuaries. Private jets to pitch meetings. Fluorescent-lit nonprofit offices.

Every room was the same problem: someone was building a manifestation of who they thought they were, and the delta between that and who they actually were kept showing up as pain and resistance.

My work is closing that delta.

II · On Stage

Four stages. One question.

All four from 2013, the year my first daughter was born. Every stage, same question: identity.

The gift of inadequacy
Ideas worth spreading · Live audience
TEDx · 2013

Invited to talk about REHUMANIZE. I asked if I could talk about the gift of inadequacy instead. This talk came out of me reading the Sermon on the Mount and truly understanding it for the first time in my life. Rough around the edges, a work-in-progress version of the thesis. Proud of younger me for having the guts to tell the truth.

PS — this one is absolutely not safe for work. Listen with headphones.

The freedom to be yourself
Global creative community · Houston chapter
CreativeMornings · 2013

An honor to be among peers. The talk was about the freedom to be yourself — the idea that you can't do anything you put your mind to, but when you know who you are, you'll know what to do. Less refined than I'd be now. Same thesis.

Free & Fearless · Lakewood · 2013

A women's conference asked me to speak on fear. Three thousand women in the room. Closed it out with a stand-up bit. Speaking to 3,000 women about fear pretty much qualified me to speak on fear from then on.

The Improv · 2013

Eighteen minutes. Two nights in a row. A warm crowd, a fun room, a set that went well — one of my favorite live experiences of all time. A total gift.
