Alternative Press Magazine is the third-leading music magazine in the US. During the tenure of his relationship with Alternative Press, Taylor has photographed compelling editorials featuring Aaron Gillespie, As Cities Burn, Torche, and The Academy Is.

Publisher Norman Wonderly says Taylor’s images stood out from his peers from the start. Norman had seen samples of Taylor’s work blending photography with digital animation, and remarked that while many photographers were experimenting with digital applications, Taylor’s work hinted at a broader creative concept.

Wonderly says that in an industry where many photographers will stop at taking a posed picture in front of a backdrop, Taylor goes further. He recounted a photoshoot during which Taylor incorporated a car speeding down a highway, and another recent one involving piñatas. “Everyone can take a good photo, but everyone doesn’t do that extra thing… A concept, an idea that makes people stop at that image. He also has really pretty lighting,” Wonderly adds.

Working with Taylor Gahm is easy, as Wonderly points out: “Taylor is great with deadlines, and in an industry where dealing with photographers is not always easy, with Taylor it always is. The point is, you know you’re going to get a great shot. He never disappoints.”
