Zondervan / HarperCollins · Commissioned Photographer
Rob Bell and his team at Zondervan commissioned a single photograph for Drops Like Stars, his meditation on creativity and suffering. The brief came straight out of the chapter on page 28: at the ballet, someone hands you a squirrel instead of a program — what is this? My job was to make that squirrel feel formal, reverent, inevitable. The subject on the other side of the camera was my dad.
“…or instead of being handed a program we were handed a squirrel, we would immediately begin asking, WHAT IS THIS?”Rob Bell · Drops Like Stars, p. 28
Full Disclosure
I took a behind-the-scenes self portrait on set — me, same squirrel, different answer to Rob's question. To each his own.

Also With Rob Bell
Beyond the book commission, I worked behind the scenes on Rob's NOOMA short-film series — on set for episode 23, Corner, and on a handful of other efforts with the team.
