Nonprofit · Community Café · Tomball, TX
The Renewal Center is a 5-star café and nonprofit hub serving Tomball’s most vulnerable. Taylor restructured their financials, remediated IRS compliance, rebuilt their web presence, and led their highest-ever fundraiser — all while positioning them to show donors that 100% of every dollar went to programs.
Taylor was largely responsible for the TRC’s ability to carry on with its mission.
The Website & The Brand Voice
The website was the heart of the engagement. Before a line of copy was written, Taylor spent a month on the ground in Tomball — sitting in ReGroup, listening to the directors, drinking coffee at the cafe, and learning the cadence and conviction of the place.
From that immersion came the brand voice. Every headline, every callout, every video script and every photo selection was rewritten from the ground up — copy and imagery and motion working as one piece, all in service of positioning a 5-star café and nonprofit hub serving Tomball’s vulnerable.
Sat in services, listened to the directors, learned the people. The brief came from the community, not the conference room.
Headlines, navigation, body copy, video scripts — the entire site copy rewritten to match how the directors actually talk about the work.
Original photography of every program, plus five short films — copy, image, and motion designed to land as one voice.
We hired him for a short-term project to create our website and generate inspiring, inviting video content that told the story about who we are, what and why we do what we do. He took all of what he heard from the head and the heart of my partner, myself, and the community we love so much — and made magic happen.
The Video Library
A donor-facing welcome film and four program shorts. Each one carries the weight of the work in under four minutes, so a first-time visitor or a returning donor can see exactly what their dollar supports.
The Work, In Photographs
A 5-star café and nonprofit hub serving Tomball’s vulnerable. Cinematic stills below show ReTurn Church on Sunday morning, ReGroup conversations through the week, the one-on-one spiritual direction rooms, and the ReBar café that funds it all.
ReBar Café
Cold-pressed juice, locally sourced coffee, scratch-made food. Every dollar that crosses the counter underwrites the spiritual direction, ReGroup, and ReTurn programs.
From the Renewal Center
Excerpted from letters of recommendation written by The Renewal Center’s executive leadership and board chairman.
Taylor had a dramatic impact on the sustainability of the TRC. He spearheaded a 30-day fundraising campaign that outperformed the set donation goal by 150%. This feat was largely responsible for the TRC’s ability to carry on with its mission.
Once Taylor understands the goal, he doesn’t require supervision or micromanagement — he simply gets to work. He played a significant role in helping us raise over $117,000, and he was instrumental in helping re-launch our Sunday church gathering, ReTurn.
What I loved most about working with Taylor was his ability to deeply listen — not only to what I was needing as Director, but to my heart about it. He took all of what he heard from the head and the heart of my partner, myself, and the community, and made magic happen.
